being sample?

Think about it Dr.Dre and The Rza was sampling the 70s soul and funk records they grew up on. Up-coming producers our age have a plethora of records they could make new classic beats with. But, I guess the sample law would scare them away from even messing with those 90s records.

I'm trying to think of 90s songs that were sampled that came out really good.

The only ones I can think of is:
Kendrick - Blow My High sampled Aaliyah - 4 page letter
Nas - Film sampled a dance song that I can't remember.
Fabolous song with Neyo sampled Raekwon - Rainy Days.

Remember how terrible the Maino New York song that sampled Pac' California Love was? And the Chris Brown song that sampled SWV and Nas. And, yeah I know those songs were already samples to begin with.

I think it would be cool if they used less mainstream songs. sh!t like Digable Planets or Black Sheep..

If they try to use the songs everyone would know it won't have the same effect...

I mean from every genre. Like a Fiona Apple song, Smashing Pumpkin song, or any rock/ pop/dance/ trip-hop song that came out during that era.

The producers who did Section 80 impressed me with those beats they made.

The Chris Brown 'She Ain't You' sh*t was hot, I had to give that goofy niqqa props on that one.

But yeah, I think about this myself. There's not TOO much to choose from, cause all they'd be doing is essentially sampling older records. But there are some I'd like to hear get sampled for a new track:

Total's 'Kissing You'
D'Angelo 'Lady'
Hi-Five 'I Like The Way' :ahh:

I'm kinda surprised this trend hasn't come back around yet. Early-90s was on the 70s jams, the late-90s went thr the 80s... 90s hasn't really gotten that treatment yet. I think the first artist/producer that does it and makes it their sound is gonna strike oil with that sh*t.

I swear Nas "Daughter" sounds like a Total song I can put my finger on.

Premo already sampled D'Angelo "Lady" for the remix with AZ.

J.Cole "Sideline" songs sound like Cru "Just Another Case."
