That's what I was asking your opinion on. I had an amazing engagement and wedding ring. Full on destination wedding... Our shyt and stress from CA back to CO led us to not make ppwk official. He was an attorney. He knew the ins and outs, so it was 'official'. We filed taxes. We were on eachothers health plans. The divorce ppwk had to be legit, because of the state we live in.So you weren't married? Just common law

1. Of course we did. We had been living together for 6 years. It would be silly not to. Sidenote: we did not have any kind of government assistance through this so how is this viewed differently?
2. I've had my own through it all. No kids. Never asked anything through the divorce even though I could've gotten quite a bit.
3. I acknowledged that I considered us married. Last posted stated also, that we still had to file for divorce formally because of the laws of our state. We had no children, neither of us were angry or vindictive, and I asked for nothing. Made things smooth as butter.

Its a business contract that helps reconcile property and ownership between two people. Especially if you have kids.
People die and there needs to be a system to reconcile who gets whose shyt.
