I equate being a dad to loving your children organically and not being worried about what people will think of you if they see how you love your kids and don't like it.
Too many black parents think that you love your kid more if you spend money on designer clothes and get their hair cut/done every week. Or buy them a Benz as their first car. We so worried about what parenting LOOKS like from the outside:
...that we (some of us) could care less what it does to our children (boys in this case) when you reject or refrain from showing affection in certain ways.
What will all these brehs do when they've made "DONT KISS ME IMMA MAN" such a stigma that their son goes through a rebellous phase (which we all do) and starts kissing men just to see what all the fuss is about?![]()
You got IG, breh? Follow that page and I can guarantee you will see great examples of Black fatherhood. That pic stood out because there was no other pics like that. It seems like this is a rarity for most men. I didnāt even see men kissing their daughters on the lips like that.
