Do you think this prison model will work in the US?

Yes, the current model treats them like animals and many behave as such whilst locked up. At least this gives them a chance to become more humane. It’s not going to help the most impulsive, but it will help many others, I think.

Breh the block will look like the ending of Fresh Prince with Will standing in a empty house.

Everybody will be trying to catch a body to live a life of luxury :francis:

About 44% of ex-cons or ex-inmates go back to jail once they get out in the US.

You can do 1 of 2 things:

1. Norway model where you treat them like people and if they wild out all that is taken away
2. El salvador model where you lock everybody up with 0 timetable for release

Thry don't have their freedom, and I wouldn't call that lil ass room with that single bed and cheap ass mattress superior living conditions
You never seen a stuio apartment with a starting price of $1500 in most urban centers then. Add in free skills training and free healthcare and free meals...Plus overnight visits from "family" (sex) then yeah they got it better the quite a few people to be honest.

A prison system is typically a reflection of a society’s health. So yeah it would be nice to see prisons in the US but I could see at least 3 current hurdles:

1. US society on the whole would first need social programs designed for improving the living conditions of everyone. Housing, education, employment, healthcare, etc.

2. The tax rates across Scandinavia are around 70%. This is crucial to the funding for a prison system (as well as free healthcare for all, for instance). The US would need to raise its taxes on everyone dramatically.

3. End the privitization of the US prison systems.

tl:dr version is Norway’s citizens agree to pay heavy taxes for all that. Would Americans?
