My ex-brother in law died in a 40mph crash for not wearing a seatbelt, flew out his van and was dead for 5 mins, was a vegetable for 3 years before checking out. What's messed up I used to argue with him all the time about wearing the damn belt.
even when I'm a passenger and I'm in the back I put it on. It takes less than 5 seconds.

my rover goes into brake hold (it will not move until gassed) when the car comes to stop but only if your safety belt is on.
i got so used to this that when i drive other cars i accidentally roll sometimes because i forget i have to hold the break down.
so yeah the convenience of the hold function gets me to wear my seatbelt in the rover, aside from the alerts
