I argue this all the time in the barbershop and i'll say it here also. Doc is definitely the most overrated coach in the league. Roster full of superstars for the past 6-8 yrs in both teams, that was definitely thibs team and his style when they won.

Its like Ditka and Buddy Ryan. Ditka had the personality. Doc has that. Thibs doesnt. It makes people think Doc is better than he is. Same for Rick Carlisle who has no personality, but is the superior coach to Doc.

Thibs is a superior defensive coach...Doc is the better overall coach. In the NBA you need coaches who can manage players. Besides Pop, no one currently coaching(Phil was the best at it) is better at that than Doc. Doc shouldn't be GM though and should have better assistants. Pop and Phil always have/had those assistants who could help them with the Xs &Os and overall grind of a season.

Thibs is a better overall coach. No way Doc gets what Thibs got out of those Bulls teams. And Carlisle sh1ts on Doc.

Doc is like Phil Jackson and Thibs is like a Larry Brown. Managing players vs X & Os(Defensive/Offensive scheme). Phi had the Tri though too:blessed:.

Doc is a good coach, I just hate him as a GM. With Doc the players are accountable and have to perform especially if they're supposed to make a deep playoff run. The Clipps used to always use Vinny as a scape goat whenever they didn't play well. And truthfully Vinny was good in my book. I really didn't want to see him go.. 56 wins is a hell of an accomplishment plus we had a better bench under Vinny.. but he had a bad rep and no player would co-sign him. But with Doc the players actually are held accountable which is good.. I just wish he wasn't the GM as well as coach

That GM you had was underrated. Clipps made some of the best moves in their LA history with him. Doc/Neil combo would be ruthless...as a Laker fan glad they are not together.:lolbron:
