Most people who care about baseball passionately are old people who remember listening to a old cac on the radio, going to a game and scoring a baseball game
this generation is totally different, people's attention span is shorter, kids and teens would rather watch youtube or exciting sports or play fortnite than sit and watch a game that you don't know if its goign to end in 2.5 hours or 3 or 4 or 5 or 6

That's largely due to local television numbers, people in their specific city watch their local teams more than ever, that's led to lucrative TV deals. People in St Louis or Detroit or Cleveland aren't gonna watch a LA/Bos WS though, that's where the national ratings die.

It's just a sport where if your team isn't in it, you don't watch. Just not exciting enough for most people.

As I said before you need a heartland team and a coastal team, or two heartland teams. Most of america hates the red Sox, and once it was clear that they were going to win, the ratings fell

Misleading. It went 5 games and the Dodgers were never really in it. Once the Sox go up 2-0 it's a wrap. If the Dodgers had made it a series games 6 and 7 would have had much higher ratings.
