Compared to Japanese surnames , British surnames , Netherlands with the Van . Could be a mental illness but I don't see black disporia jumping up to have an african surname in large numbers

This is true but if I did that I would want to adopt my real name. What's crazy is genealogy shyt like Ancestry.com don't work for us. I did that shyt and it only went back to my great grandfather. Everything before that is forever lost. I don't even know who I am

I'm thankful that my parents gave me a Yoruba name. I must admit that I didn't always feel that way growing up as a kid, as I became older I embraced it.
