Life is too short to worry about whether other people think you are a "real man". People have to do what works for them.
I can't criticize a guy for paying for a 7.5 or better, when the majority of these dudes are either knocking chicks in the 4-6 range, or selling dreams to broads they know damn well they are going to bounce on.

first date I'm spending $5 on happy hour drink or if it's warm outside we walk through farmers market eating free samples then talk for an hour sitting on some bench in the park. if i don't smash after the 1st then on the 2nd date i probably spent $20 on groceries to cook a meal together at my/her place. afterwards im smashin this chick as many times as i want after and for as long as i want.

A lot of chicks ain't with that cheap date tip. I know some are, but you pretty much telling a chick she's jumpoff status by taking her to the farmer's market eating free samples.
Drinks are cool but again during "happy hour"? Works for fwb type chicks, but most quality chicks want to go to martini bar or some other bar at night and you wind up dropping about $40.
