Does anybody know about unlocking phones?

For my birthday my cousin bought me a galaxy note 3, and i was enrolled with her plan.

I would give her $40 a month, she said was cool.

Shes in a financial crisis so she wont be able to be on t-mobile. I thought i could take my phone to a prepaid company, but its blocked or unlocked.

Do you guys think i can unlock this phone?

If the phone has been on the network for about 8 months , bill paid on time etc..... you can call tmobile and ask them for the unlock code.
