the real question is what are y'all using to play em on your tvs?

my ps3 has issue playing most of the new MKVs using media server. like 85%. . does well with mp4s usually. most of the time have to put em in my network and stream em from the laptop

According to @PS4, 2-4GB rips are = to 8-12GB rips

And 700MB AVIs is all you need for your downloads, and 1080p rips are 720p rips because he says so

Ok, so his last post basically drops his 7-14gb down to 8-12gb. He can't lock a number down like a Killzone SF framerate online

Nah, the TV shows I grab are usually around that size, which all drop in 720p.

Only movies I get are in 1080p and at least 4 times the size of 2GBs

At least meaning 8gb in size. Something he later says he doubts he has any or maybe 2

I mean, from what I've seen, the rips that are in the range that I said are crisp for the pic quality. The audio isn't the same as it is on a disc, but I don't feel like waiting the extra time nor using up the additional storage to download a movie that's 25-50GBs

I think it's native, or just slightly below. I think the main difference is in the sound like the poster mentioned above...

I mean, I have good vision and I have a ton of Blu-Rays... the rips I get all look very good and close to what I was used to seeing on the discs.

And if your speeds are fine (I think you said you getting like 50mbps right?) downloading a 8GB movie in like 25 minutes is worth it over a quicker download but a lesser picture IMO.

So in conclusion, he THINKS its native or SLIGHTLY BELOW and he THINKS the main difference is the sound.
He also has good vision and a ton of blu-rays, but that didn't tell him he was downloading 720p movies disguised as 1080p

Then for the final nail in the coffin? He tells me how long it would take to download a how many gig movie?
The low number he doesn't want to associate himself with. 8gb
Cuz you know.. all his downloads are like uh.... 16/17gb, "thats close enough right jewnited "

Do yourself a favor and get a WD Live TV or a Roku and throw the PS3 in the bushes (as a media player)
