Don't know if Melo-Lin hate is true, but Sanchez/Holmes went thru the same shyt back and forth, stories or their disdain for one another and suddenly they started to go to events and clubbing together.

Exactly. Just because someone says they get along with someone while a camera and/or mic is in their face doesn't mean that's what's in their hearts.

I'm not saying I know what's in the man's chest, but it's certainly my prerogative to believe him or not.

Both Sanchez and Holmes said they never had any issues between them.

How in the HELL did this thread turn into another Lin vs Melo thread?? :noah:

Go do that in the Knicks thread or something.

I think sportstalk radio is for the rapid decline in fan's intelligence as well as the general lack of ability to discuss sports rationally. Have you ever heard whenever someone comes on their show and counters their points with rational arguments? They just ignore them and keep going.

I've heard radio hosts spewing things live that were completely wrong and all it takes to refute is a simple google search.

I caught his show for a little while, but he started to get too stupid for me on some of his opinions
For instance he said something about how he knew John Wall wasn't going to be a good leader when he saw his first game in the NBA and he did the dougie

He hasn't played 10 years in NY. Tying this to his "overall fame" in the city is speculation on your part and the media that says it is.

They were sayign this before Melo came back from injury and wished it into fruition.

:what: What does playing in NY have to do with anything? His game is what it is. He's a volume shooter. He was a volume shooter at Syracuse, and he was a volume shooter for 7.5 years in Denver. Now he's a volume shooter in NY.

Volume shooters generally don't like playing with other volume shooters and J. Lin was taking a lot of shots while Melo was out. Getting a lot of headlines while Melo was out. Selling a lot of jerseys while Melo was out. Getting a lot of interviews and TV spots while Melo was out.

Based on 10 years of knowing Melo as a basketball player, that doesn't seem like it would be in his best interest, regardless of what he says to the media.

Then he calls Lin's contract offer "ridiculous" as if he's trying to convince the Knicks that it's ridiculous. Why is it ridiculous? It's not even half of Melo's contract. And some would make the argument that Lin was more valuable to the Knicks than Melo was last year. Especially from a financial standpoint.

I'm not willing to ignore all this because Melo said he "wants him back." Sorry.

You said "Melo's shot total and overall fame in the city." Those are two different things, and Melo's fame in this city doesn't have a 10 year track record. And for the media to always act as if they're in these athletes inner circle of niqqas knowing these players insecurities and wants is a complete joke. Look at Deron Williams shytting on WoJo for just that.

And Steve Nash said he would never play for the Lakers...

That's different than saying they didn't have an issue with Player B.

Yes those are two different things. That's why I put the word "and" in between them.

Melo's fame in the city doesn't have to have a 10 year track record. He went there to be the man didn't he? He didn't go there to play in Jeremy Lin's shadow.

The 10 year track record speaks to the kind of player Melo is. He's proven to be an Alpha dog who is a volume shooter and a black hole on offense. That's why basketball-wise I don't think he wants Lin back because Lin likes to shoot a lot too, and as the primary ball handler, Melo would be dependent on him to get him the rock. It's different with a post player like Amare, Melo can just not feed him (see first round vs Miami).

And as far as the last part, it's not different at all. Players say "politically correct" stuff to the media all the time. You think Melo is gonna say "fukk Jeremy Lin, this is my team and I want all those shots he takes and all the love he gets. Let him rot in Houston." You really think he's gonna say that?

We don't know what the real reason he came to NY for....but in being "the man" who the hell is going to turn away playing alongsidde someone that can help him?

Did he have any problems playing alongside AI whose stature in the league was greater than his?

Man please.

AI going to Denver was nothing like Linsanity. Stop it. AI's career was in decline at that point and Denver is not NYC. Linsanity was a fukking global phenomenon, while AI just got ran outta Philly. And there was no Amare Stoudemire in Denver to already share the pill with either. Again, stop it.

Melo had no intentions on being 2nd fiddle in NY. Now you can try to play these lame ass psychoanalysis games all you want but that's a fact, g. You think Melo's just gonna hand the keys of the franchise over? D Wade wouldn't even do that in Miami and Bron is clearly over him.

He already called Lin's contract offer "ridiculous" which says a lot about how he feels about Lin, seeing as how his contract is worth more than twice as much. So basically he's saying Lin isn't half the player he is, yet he's willing to hand the franchise over to him because he "can help him"?

Come on, breh. :aicmon:

AI came into the league with a larger legacy. Linsanity growing during Melo's absence...exactly where did you first hear from Melo's inner circle that it was a threat to him?

You honestly believe these white news hacks have someone in these guys inner circles to get info from?

Dude. WTF are you talking about? This is just basketball. I don't need to know anybody in Melo's circle to know that J. Lin taking 20+ shots a game is going to take away from Melo's 20+ shots a game.

shyt, fukk basketball. We're talking basic arithmetic at this point.

Inner circles? News hacks? :what: You're the one believing everything you hear in the news thinking Melo wanted him to stay. I'm the one calling that report BS.

Yall Knick fans are fukking ridiculous. :snoop:

And why are you talking about AI "coming into the league". AI wasn't coming into the league when he went to Denver, that happened over a decade prior. You're comparing Jeremy Lin's buzz from a couple months ago as it pertains to today to AI's buzz in 96 as it pertained to 08? You can't be serious, guy.

Dog...I'm talking about THIS:

"overall fame in the city."

Tell me about Melo's mental make up that you just KNOW that Melo would be bothered by this.

The news hacks said it....so it MUST be true.
