For the shyt I purchase it's cheaper for me to shop at Kroger often than Wal Mart, plus it's always a shyt experience shopping at Wal Mart. Then there's Amazon too. fukk Wal Mart.

I stop going to the local Walmart in my area. Its like a prison there, they replaced the Walmart greeters with security guards. The long ass lines suck; they have 24 cash registers with only two open, why? The aisles keep getting more empty. Why go to the store and deal with rude people when I can just go on my Amazon prime account and get the same shyt?
This post right here is indicative of the larger consumer mindset. People don't want to deal with the hassle of putting up with Walmart (or any retailer, more on that later) and their reputation of poor customer service and dirty stores that they've ignored has come back to bite them. Walmart and Amazon are the two largest retailers now with Amazon gaining ground on Walmart every day.

To zoom out on this, brick and mortar is declining rapidly while e-commerce is only getting stronger and stronger. If Walmart wants to survive, they're going to have to improve their e-commerce offerings and expand in that way. But the problem they face there is that Amazon has a head start of years worth of infrastructure built out for that purpose. Amazon has fulfillment centers across the country (and soon the world) built to get people their goods faster.

Sometimes when I send Amazon three of one item, they'll send one of each to a different center across the country so that people there can get it faster. Walmart has nothing like this and it will take them years to catch up.
