Ppl in this generation belive Jordan to be the greatest. Older ppl from the past generation will tell u Kareem was the greatest, or how two generations ago, Russell was the greatest, etc. Jordan was great no doubt, but some will tell ya he ruined basketball. Same sorta thing w/ hip-hop. This generation crowns Biggie and Pac, yet Rakim and Kane arguably were better(@ the very least), and trashes this generation's rappers for talkin' bout the same shyt they did. Not to take away from their talents, but as great as Christopher and Lesane were, they ultimately helped to contribute to the mess that hip-hop is now.

I understand your analogy but I disagree in terms of Basketball. What you forgetting to add is that during MJ era even though he has 6 rings those superstars of his time were amazing and will be remember forever without the media technology and international appeal these so-call superstars have now. MJ in a sense didn't ruin anything but David Stern and executives did.

The NBA is trying to find that next superstar and pushing players who in the previous generations wouldn't be the 8th man off a team bench. These players don't know footwork etc... Lebron a prime one but just pure dunking or scoring.

What makes Durant/Lebron etc... so great?

People will always remember a MJ no matter how you spend it because of his appeal he did nothing different to Magic or Wilt/Kareem but make sneakers, commercials and endorsements. He will live forever.

In terms of Hip Hop. Most of those New York legends were local in a sense East Coast movement. Biggie and Pac were the first rappers ever to reach across the country in all areas. This is my opinion.

Japan, but from the 989
I really want them to go back to 80's style of basketball. Cut out some of these rules (Handchecking), three in the key type of shyt and get back to tough defense and real basketball...basically bring basketball back to it's roots. Let high school kids declare for the draft.

HS'ers declaring for the draft has fukked up alot of careers... ( Lenny Cooke is probably the best example of that)

one bad decision could essentially ruin their life, especially if they come from a background where basketball may have been their only way out, cause they weren't really great in the classroom ( even if they did try).

there should be a provision for HS kids who declare, if they aren't drafted they can still play NCAA ball.

Now who fault is that? They don't care about them damn kids anyway. The best players in NBA history came from High School and for them to take it away has a stronger meaning. Kobe, Lebron, Moses, KG etc...

The best player in NBA history played all 4 years of college tho.

if you really want to get back to "real basketball" kids do need to build their games in college....like their 70's, 80's and 90's counterparts did.

The Kobes,LeBrons,Jermaine O'neals, and KG's are the rare exceptions of players who would've been great regardless if they went to college or not.

preventing HS'ers from jumping to the NBA, created a bigger problem in College Basketball than what it was supposed to "prevent" in the NBA

Agree but I am stating that the NBA didn't stop high schoolers for that reason. The NBDL is very undeveloped and not used correctly. The NBA has potential to be the best league with the right leadership.

Plan B: Watch the Big East.

The NBA practically deaded the idea of those games because low scoring games are bad for business.

There WAS a provision for kids to do that, provided that you didn't hire an agent. The problem is that 99% of kids did just that because unless you got money like that, handling the draft process without one is expensive.

That's not how it's viewed. Very few improve their games in college, and most of them don't do it without their games being dissected like a frog. It's why college seniors are generally avoided like the plague.

Baseball is in trouble. The only thing that's saving baseball is the influx of great Latin American talent. Football and Basketball will always be 1 and 2. It won't happen in our lifetime but Soccer will become #3 in about 25-40 years. It has already begun.

Basketball is gonna take a small hit but it'll weather any storm. Having said that I don't think the NBA gets any worse or better.

How old are u that u gone be dead in 25-40 years??? :wtf:

What I dont get is.. he made the image of the nba "cleaner" but have they really benefited/profited from it more than if they woulda kept it the same way ?

They made the image cleaner during AIs run as arguably most popular player in the league :dahell: how does that make business sense :what:

before you had people actually fighting in games and not getting thrown out in the 90s and now you got tim duncan getting thrown outta games for laughing and shyt :dahell:

Tim Duncan getting thrown out for laughing on the bench is literally one of the worst things ive ever seen in sports.. fukk a ref :pacspit: them mafukkas can get replaced.. how can someone so easily replaceable have so much authority to change the game with bull shyt calls because a player "undermines" his authority :snoop:

refs deal with emotions like bytches
and stern made the league soft

so fukk both them

Is the image really "cleaner"? I feel like internet, social media, 24 hour news cycle...has damaged the NBA's image more than any other sport. Hell, ESPN has probably done more damage than anyone.

It's like what people say about crime...it's statistically going down...reporting on it is way up...mainstream cacs are more frightened...what the fukk can we do?

I hate all this "image" shyt anyways...I just want the game to be a little more streamlined. A few less fouls a quarter, stop policing emotions, be honest about "star calls" and let niccas play some D!
