Anyone here been through it? What are the ups and downs? I know all Restaurants are different depending upon the Demographics. I'm thinking about opening something small (healthy food, juices, and shakes.) Only having 5-6 tables to keep the rent relatively low, mainly concentrating on to go orders.

Everyone who has a restaurant will tell you "don't do it".
But they seem to be happy I guess.
Same thing with married people.

I realize this was not helpful.

as for shakes, there was a guy out here in LA that owned his own robeks on crenshaw. the problem was he only received seasonal business. people only came out for the shakes and juices when it was hot outside. during the colder months, the place was always empty.

I'm in TX though, so this might work to my benefit.
For those saying "don't do it" care to elaborate?

Whats your business plan ?
Where's your location ?
Is it needed in the area ?
Why will people like it, what will make them return ?

people are saying dont do it because most restaurants fail pretty quickly.

if anything, get you some mexicans that'll grill chicken all day. everybody loves chicken, everybody dont love shakes and wheat grass shots.
