Your girl is right. Its weird. I've seen this in many relationships and its crazy how they just disappear. You hear from them less and less, hang out with them less,etc... That doesn't bother me, just reminds me that we aren't as close as I thought lol.

And you gotta hear the "Oh stop it, no you stop it, no you, ok ok.. how about we both stop it..... " bullshyt when they're out with friends. This is exactly why I give my friends a break when they get into a new relationship. Nothing against them, just lettin them figure themselves out first few months.
