I do. Authoritarians look for weakness before they make a move.
China have been wanting to take Taiwan for over 50 years....a strong America is a reason why they haven't.

If China makes a move on Taiwan (if Russia takes Ukraine) whether you like it or not there will be a draft and YOU WILL BE AFFECTED.

If you don't want another world war or your kids/family sent to war then we have to give the Ukrainians everything they need to halt the Russian advance. Autocrats are licking their lips on what they can grab when America is weak.

i don’t think america’s strength is determined by how committed we are to assisting ukraine. there are a number of other regions around the globe in which similar encroachments on sovereignty have occurred, yet we never devoted a single cent to the defense of the nation being invaded.

imo, defending ukraine is purely a cynical move motivated by geopolitical interests. the longer ukraine stays in this fight, the weaker russia is.

i think the question remains: how does this aid the american people - black people, specifically?
i’ve seen nothing to confirm that russia, before its invasion, was militarily capable of waging a world war.

do any of you actually care what happens to ukraine? is this something that should be a concern of black people? does the defense of ukraine improve the material reality of black america at all? does defending her from russia play a significant role in reversing the socioeconomic disrepair suffered by our people?

i’ll end this by saying that when russia stepped up its invasion, ukraine forbid its black population from leaving the country. is that a nation black people should be rallying behind?

I care. I can also see the implications if the US didn't at the very least give aid. Clearly, most in here haven't studied WW2 in any great detail.

International politics isn't some shyt where you can hide your crib. It always will come to your doorstep.
