Before my grandmother passed away (RIP Josephine) she retired as a 42 year human resource officer at the shipping printing press in Brooklyn.

She enjoyed her remaining years watching wrestling, soap operas and telling us to shut the hell up when we were getting too loud

My 84 year old grand father is retired…his house is paid off… he receives about $2500 a month. I think he’s comfortable…he’s on Medicare etc only expense is $1k a year in property taxes and maybe $400-600 a month on food. He probably tricks a lot of his gf tho

Comfortable meaning they have a nice place to live(and presumably pass away) in, can pay all their bills, have insurance to cover medical instances, and can go and do as they please. Not having to have their children drop off money or pay for them to be able to do things.

My wife is in education just like her mother. As a matter of fact, it seems like the majority of that side of the family is in education. I love to see it.
