Varies from game to game the ones I usually play are like dating Sims with combat and sex

Some of them you have to go on actual dates with the women you meet or the ones on your team to smash. You may have to buy gifts ect. I just played a game where the more intimate you get with a girl the higher her states get. Another game you gain their final abilities on the last intimate meet with them.

The Apostle games are good. Some of the American made ones are good like Book of Korvald and Knightly Passion's

The og Fate/Stay Night is good and probably the most mainstream eroge. But I think most people these days are more familiar with the alternate censored version + adaptations based on that version
