They released Anti, Lemonade, The Life of Pablo exclusively back to back.


I remember at the time the industry was calling to put an end to streaming exclusives.Tidal was cheating is what they said. Said they lied about streaming numbers and were rigging the service for Rihanna,Ye,Beyoncé.

I remember it being a big deal Kanye was streaming TLOP exclusively. He even got sued for putting it on Apple after he said he never would.
They tried to say they lied about his numbers and Tidal refused to give Billboard the numbers.



Now they’re irrelevant..

Yeah, for a while I had both Spotify and Tidal and had Tidal just to listen to Jay Z catalog Eventually I canceled Tidal even before Jay put his music back on Spotify, didn't really like paying for two streaming services...


I had hundreds of songs across various Playlists on Spotify and used Spotify far more often.

I thought Tidal was cool. It also seemed like songs you played the most would play regardless of your service. Almost like they were saved offline without you saving them offline.
