San andreas obviously had much more features, stuff you could do.....but the storyline was ridiciolous and over the top

at least vice city was somewhat "Grounded" albeit ridicioulous as well, plus i like the 80s vibe miami theme...... plus it had the best soundtrack in the gta series

Vice City was compressed enough that it gave you something to do in every corner of the world. In San Andreas you would be sent to certain parts for a mission or two and then never have a reason to go there ever again, so added with the 80's vibe it's always been my favorite.

Also, even though SA focused heavily on the gang war stuff, nothing beat the Haitian gang from Vice City. Gamers were literally shook of moving through Little Haiti. :whew:

Loved the atmosphere in Vice City. They nailed it. San Andreas's features puts it over the top for me, though. Dual wielding weapons, the customizing options available from clothing and hair all the way down to the vehicles, and the effect it had on the game and the way CJ was perceived...gaining/losing weight and muscle, learning fighting techniques, various restaurants.. 'hot coffee'/dating..engaging in banter with pedestrians...the size of the game itself, the fun and outrageous missions, gambling...the list never ends. Was in awe the first time I was driving and heard the guy on Radio Los Santos issue a thunderstorm warning. Three minutes later, it was pouring. I simply had more fun in San Andreas, & if you add to the fact that the protagonist was finally a brother? :wow:

SA is hands down my favorite video game ever conceived. Ten years later and R* still hasn't been able to top it.

They got every single aspect of vice city right. The vibe of that game was unfukkwitable. Tommy Vercetti is to me the GOAT character out of any GTA game. The voice acting by Ray Liotta was phenomenal. Every fukking radio station was good. The Story line was :ohlawd:

What people dont know or realise is that San Andreas is the outlier game of the entire Grand Theft Auto series, it's more of a Saint's Row game than a GTA game as it has more in tandem with that series and should be seen as Saints Row Zero/0.

Vice City had the insane amount just right imo, SA took it to far.
