Does Beyoncés overall greatness make people forget about her great singing capability??

I'm sorry, but all you cats mentioning Aaliyah.....stop it. Babygirl died too young and had some good songs, but she got overrated because of her death. She wouldn't even be mentioned in that space otherwise.

I'm not duckin chit.

you still havnt showed face in that silk thread. I tagged you before this. and you still havnt responded in those 2 or 3 other threads. and I tagged you in those as well. you responded to one and then prompty ducked back out.

and stop trying to make me seem like I have a weird obsession with Aaliyah. youre not smart enough to swing perception on the slick.

I just don't like revisionist history and I don't like lines being blurred(and both of those apply to Aaliyah. and its pretty obvious if you look at the names that I'm synonymous with supposedly hating on here. its not about me hating these artists. if anything, the people I hate are the dikkhead posters like yourself that like to pedal that chit.

and whats funny is you already f*cked up earlier in this thread and made a post that un-intentionally agreed with darn near everything I be saying.

I'm not wasting my time getting into a back-n-forth with somebody who just said that the dream revolutionized r&b.

youre a known culture-vulture that never knows what youre talking about ever. and now youre trying to bring your miseducated essays into r&b threads.

GET THE F*CK OUTTA HERE.:camby:

her whole style & swag was bitten. and the guy who gave her that swag, was a notorious biter himself.

chicks dug ALOT of singers. not just Aaliyah. nor was she amongst the most popular.

theres nothing "off the block" about Aaliyah breh. I think "the girl next door that I might have a chance with" is the term that youre looking for.

you do know that Aaliyah only got in the game because her uncle is barry Hankerson right? you really don't want to get into the backgrounds breh. theres nothing organic about Aaliyah's come-up.

I don't know everything about her, but Aaliyah's music feels more organic to me.I guess she fooled me better than Bey:manny:

bey works like nobody else salute her for that
but she's a cornball with zero organic wave
even with the gawdbawdy team feeding her looks and artistic concepts she just comes across as a tryhard

the aaliyah comparison to me is like the complete opposite of her
liyah just had this ease to everything she did
her music is more enjoyable across the board

that's because all Aaliyah did was throw some shades on like t-boz and hum over r.kelly/timbaland/missy beats that she got courtesy of her uncle.

man that Aaliyah post-death propaganda machine got yall fooled. its SPOOKY in here man.

Who's saying she can't sing better than Aaliyah and Mary J :dahell:

some bullshyt strawman argument OP set up.

she can sing but i don't feel it
beyonce lacks a certain emotion that comes when singin' with emotion
i think her singin' is bland :ld:

very bland.

This and at the end of the day, that's all that matters.

that uncomfortable truth :banderas:

Niccaz overrate her more by saying that she's underrated.

She's a good technical/polished singer, but y'all trying to make it like her voice is special.

She gets the job done & dances on the stage like a wild banshee.Teeny boppers, hood rats, and sophisticated hood rats love her music.

Never seen a dude bumping her shyt.Guess they're doing it in private.

As a man, what songs do you vibe with?

Personally, I think Me Myself And I is her dopest song.

But what are y'all vibing to? throw me some tracks.

Y'all ride for her......throw me some tracks, then.......throw me some tracks

as soon as I read this post, I knew these frauds would go silent :mjlol: Common Coli tactic. OP makes some goofy statement, others show up pretending to be fans, but when asked to show knowledge of catalog, they fail or go mute.

I never bump Beyonce but she has some decent tracks. "Partition" is lowkey one of the best beats she's ever sang on. and aside from the chorus, she doesn't really fit imo. Beyonce's not the dark/experimental type. Aaliyah would have KILLED that beat.

the other decent cuts: "Single Ladies", "Me Myself and I", "Work It Out", "Check On It", "7/11" and "Get Me Bodied"

Still coppin' pleas. Nobody's ducked you. What's funny is you're doing the ducking and trying to cloak it, by saying posters are ducking you. You know giving respect requires you having some to give.

You haven't shot down anything. Breh, you've been recycling the same Aaliyah posts for years. By now everybody knows you have a weird obsession with Aaliyah. We know it's close to August 25. You might as well get that annual hate in early. Quite sure Aaliyah provided the soundtrack to some of the worst moments in your life the way you flock to any related Aaliyah thread with the same unwavering dedication to discredit her.

:damn:

You could tell me everything you know, but musically----strictly talking about the sound/vibe of the music, Aaliyah will still appeal to me more that Beyonce.

The politics surrounding how/why she got a deal really don't concern me.The bizz is filled with all types of fukkery.

I'm just saying, if i'm going to pick my poison/favorite piece of plastic, generic Aaliyah>generic Beyonce.

They're both robots.Aaliyah and her handlers did a better job at making her sound closer to being "human":yeshrug:IMO

i acknowledge beyonce being the stronger vocalist and a more polished performer
but it's about who's music i enjoy more

aaliyah is the more pleasing artist in every respect for me
even with me knowing bey is a machine

beyonce for me will always have this forced try hard aura on her
i can listen to her once and appreciate the work she puts in but i never want to come back

with aaliyah she has a bunch of songs i can vibe to and roll up with a tenda to
even being the weaker vocalist it's the relaxed easy quality in her voice that males it dope

kick the beyhive and run jahahahahaa

I don't know man, I guees it's all about what type of shyt you prefer, to me..
My dad was a musician and traveled locally and shyt ..played keys, organ, guitar..he wrote some stuff that never took off. Cause of that me and my little bro was lowkey forced into music. Went to performing arts schools..so because of my taste and knowledge in music I just prefer more sophisticated singing. Controlled vocals..I get distracted by off key notes, and straining and shyt..My ears be fukked up. I also like smart singers that know about chords and scales, know how to progress melodies with improv..all that technical shyt because I play keys. Beyonce gives all of this (she's techically on pitch, with crazy agility..think of an organist "shredding" on the keys.. she handles that shyt like an instrument..So I respect her ability and people look over it cause the see that ass or see how beautiful she is but when you see her live, you get to hear how vocally underrated she is.

start at around 5:30 and just watch a few minutes..bytch voice like a jazz trumpetier. I fukks with it.

Serious question :patrice:

Everyone acklowdeges that she's a great performer and there's no debate to that. But reading that she's not that great of a singer, and things like she can't sing better than Aaliyah, Monica, Mary, brandy etc has me a bit stumped.

Whose songs you like better will always be an opinion but how the hell are people overlooking her superior vocal talent?

She can sing or dance better than Aaliyah.......
Aaliyah :heh:

Gtfoh

I think some people have a hard time differentiating someone who can not sing vs not liking someone's actual singing voice.

I don't like Beyonce's singing voice. It does nothing for me. However, I can recognize that she can actually sing.

its not about who you prefer to listen to. i'll put an Aaliyah record on before beyonce too. but in reality, I know I'm really just doing it for r.kelly or missy & timbaland.

Aaliyah was brought up in here as some sort of barrier or better option, when in reality, she wasn't much of a talent. she was moreso a novelty act.

that perspective is needed.

no theyre not BOTH robots. Aaliyah was but beyonce isn't. beyonce can actually sing, she writes at least some of the stuff she takes credit for and shes a great performer.

One thing is sure though, Alicia Keys is not having has never had any WW stadium tours and she's never had reviews like Beyonces two latest albums.

Alicia Keys 1st two albums received just as much, if not more critical acclaim, than Beyonce's last two albums, and that's her and Kerry Brothers competing against the entire Beyhive Tent Camp

Alicia Keys also isn't signed directly to the largest tour company in the world, so comparing tours isn't a fair argument
