Chris and Trey are my nikkas and are arguably the most popular R&B nikkas in the game but none of them have either a classic album or a genre defining single under their belt. Maybe Loyal.

It's strange.

Loyal is just a big 'of-the-moment' hit like a lot of recent songs that'll be forgotten in a few years.....

It seems like most popular artists in recent years are lucky if they get a few TRUE classics (as in the song itself is quality AND it's also a huge hit that's well-received by critics), that will be remembered decades in the future

Look at Beyonce...all them big hits as a solo artist yet she only has like 2 real classics: Single Ladies and Crazy In Love. Maybe Irreplaceable, too.

I'd argue Kaleidoscope Dream is a better body of work than either of the two have ever made. Weeknd's first shyt changed the game. Bhris Breezy though :patrice:
FAME and Ready are classic

Genre defining single.:dahell: do y'all dream this stuff up?

FAME and Ready? :heh:

You buggin heavy. Ready is my favourite Trey album and even I'd admit that shyt is FAR from classic status. FAME though? :laff:
What are the qualifications for classic. From where I sit it seems that the only classics are personal classics

I can already hear the music critics of the future discussing the undeniable impact that those 2 innovative albums had on pop culture :gladbron:

On the magical track 'Look At Me Now'....the new worldwide trend that the legendary Chris Brown set with his hidden rap skills, of boasting about how one is getting paper, and is fresher than a motherfukker :whoo:

The ingenious use of a standard throwaway R&B/hip hop beat for the track cleverly titled "LOL : ) " by the incomparable Trey Songz.....who dared to cross boundaries by discussing how a random ho sent him a text using emoticons and internet slang, to let him know he can come over and dig her out :ohhh:

Also in particular, the unique creativity heard from the guest rapper on the track, Soulja Boy......whose witty wordplay led to such gems as rhyming "Blackberry" with "Halle Berry" :wow:

You know thinking about it now, why do we act like Chris Brown is even better than this Usher Raymond, let alone MJ...

Certified classic albums and singles...

FAME is a very solid album. Its not a Thriller or even an Off The Wall but its really damn good.

I'd like to think of Loyal as a classic because of the way it cemented itself in pop culture. Describing men/women as "ain't loyal" is still used today.

:troll:
The song came out last year lol. Not 15 years ago...:what:
