There are many different types of intelligence and a lot of rich people can be real dumb as well. On the flip there are loads of broke geniuses as they are too busy thinking at depth to actually do anything productive or they struggle in that aspect.

One key of all good businesspeople is networking slash brown nosing. Every single one I've met is excellent at this whether as an ass kisser for the connect, fixer or generally very charismatic. The first is the most common, second rarer and third the rarest as they draw people to them like a magnet.

Critical thinking is something that people need to be taught in order to understand how to process information. It is the way to interpret it, and distill what makes sense from what doesn't. One can have a basic intelligence that can be honed with critical thinking skills, however without them intelligence in and of itself is not ideal. For example, I don't think Kyrie Irving is unintelligent. He just lacks the ability to make informed decisions because he's operating on some sort of "gut" instinct, as opposed to intellectually sound principles. Indoctrination, such as through the church, "patriotism" (ie, pledge of allegiance in school), etc. can also diminish one's ability to apply critical thinking to issues pertaining to society.

It's why the right wing goes on and on about colleges being "woke", try to cut funding to education, etc, despite the fact that most of their leaders attend Ivy League, or other prominent institutions of higher learning. Their sole goal is to create a theocratic society whereby corporations run roughshod and there are two classes - the wealthy and the subordinate. This is harder to achieve with a well informed, critically thinking populace.

Also, there are whole load of people that profited from wave riding, imitation and the good old fashioned "monkey see, monkey do". There are empires built on this as lots of people piggyback the market leader, set up shop across the street and bite everything they do but pitch it at a different audience.

A creative businessman is a very rare mix as each have their own way of thinking/mode of preference for how to play the game. Originality at this moment, in all fields, is at quite a low because its all about the show.

The reason I ask is because you have successfully self made business owners who believe in stuff like flat earth and joe Biden is a clone and all that
You are correct. However, having a specialty doesn't always translate in objectivity (seeing and interpreting things from different angles)
