does dark souls combat allow any type of creativity in how you attack? are there any combos and shyt?

I'm replaying metal gear rising and I love the combat. juggling dudes for a 30-hit combo then straight slicing 'em to pieces in slo-mo never gets old

I know dark souls doesn't have any of this crazy shyt, but can you still swag out on enemies if you get good enough? :jbhmm: i'm feindin for more games with fun combat :noah: i'm not buying a wii-u for bayonetta 2 so shyts kinda scarce outchea :bryan:

It's more about timing, spacing, and stamina management than dial-a-combo or combo freestyling, throw mind games in there when it comes to pvp

If by swagging out on enemies you mean dispatching them quickly, if your build and gear lookin right plus you memorized the attack patterns, then ya. But if you expect a toned down action game, you definitely won't get that as far as style or flashiness go.

I stopped playing this joint a while ago tho. They've done so little to evolve the game play since demon souls. shyt just bores me now

I mean dispatching them with style. getting creative wit it

I mean even in dragon's dogma (which is not a combo-building action game like DMC or bayonetta) you can really swag on enemies. even if your gear sucks in that game, if you know the combat well enough you can still destroy enemies. can you do that in dark souls or is it way more reliant on gear and numbers?

I mean you'll definitely do way less damage with shyt gear and a low soul level but u can absolutely take care of tough enemies and bosses with garbage weapons and stats as long as you know the attack patterns.

As far as getting creative, it really depends on your build: what kind of weapons and/or spells you want to provide it with. Just don't expect to hop in the battlefield stringing attack after attack after attack like dogma cause you have a stamina meter that depletes pretty quickly for each action you do

It's not deep at all in the sense of combat. it's just a RPG ish game with weapons.

It's nothing like true action heavy games like DMC or Bayonetta/MGR.

is it like skyrim where I could say for example, start off as a archer but merge into being a caster throughout the game?

Dark souls doesn't promote flashy combat but positioning, efficienct use of your strikes and stamina management, and baiting. In PVP, being able to predict your human opponents is almost like playing footsies in something like SF.

You can definitely get pretty creative if you learn your full weapon move set, how to toggle your lock on and lock on in conjunction with movement, and using your parry / dodge.

it has the best combat system because the only thing that matters is your skill
