Does it bother you when friends/fam dont text back?

I'm an adult and only text adults. I assume adults get busy with life (work, school, family, etc) so I never get pressed about late responses. If you not responding for a month then sure that's weird. But a few hours, a day, days, etc? That's fine.

See I don’t get this. Why should someone have automatic access to someone else? Even though I have my phone doesn’t mean I want to talk/text. It’s not Bc I don’t respect the person but I value my own agency. Before texting you would just have to wait until the person was by a phone or in person. Now somebody is trying to grab your attention 24/7. It’s tiring.

I'm going through this with someone now, texting me everyday the most mundane shyt, I don't feel like sending a damn good morning text, a lunch time text, an after work text, a good night text every single day...And I have absolutely no problem if someone does it to me, get back whenever you do, it's all good, I don't get in my feelings about someone not texting me back. Me and friends go weeks without hitting each other up sometimes and we all understand it ain't out of spite. Sometimes you get busy and next thing you know a few days have passed. Everyone thinks they're entitled to your attention whenever they feel like hitting you up. I miss the days before texting to be honest.

If it’s family or friends I don’t mind if it takes forever to text back or even no response. We'll eventually see each other. We know the love is there and we respect each other’s space and time. I, personally, get annoyed when I’m expected to immediately drop my peace to reinforce somebody else’s peace, over a casual text. Emergencies, I can understand though.

If it’s a lady I’m interested in I still don’t think it’s that serious. If we fall off then we fall off. It’s not like the things we might have liked about each other are exclusive to us.

I just don’t think it’s that serious, but I don’t hate people who do think it’s that serious. I just don’t process things the same way they do.

I don’t mean this in a condescending way when I say that it doesn’t hurt me like that. I don’t think it’s a weak quality. It’s wild when we look at how we can be so individually different. The same way someone is annoyed at a long response time, others might be annoyed at quick response and an expectation of the same.

My biggest pet peeve is the "oh ok" text. That instantly end a texting conversation. People who don't respond, I just stop texting altogether.

if you texted me and i can text you back under 15 minutes and its left for a response and i dont hear till hours later. thats a violation yet alone days.

because you chose to contact me and i still made time to accommodate you with a prompt response, mirroring decency gets my respect.
