Is anybody who's calling it a classic from NYC?
Or is that a west coast thing

They just overhyped tht sh!t up. It ain't go over your head... just a lot of these hipsters and weirdos hyped it up. It a good album and it has it's place in the rotation but nothing profound. If we calling this a classic then how many other previous albums would be classic?! Unless these young buls lowered the standard.

He's definitely a credit to the culture though.

Hip-Hop purists:snoop: Is y'all niccas too :flabbynsick: too appreciate music? this generation of rap music is too me better than it's ever been, Rap in the 90's didn't really offer variety, almost every major New York rapper slanged coke and knew Sosa or some random druglord, And those are the same people y'all purists niccas praise the most

Old "back in my days" ass niccas:heh:

Don't y'all think the niccas that grew up on that Motown sound and the Marvin gay etc or the funk sound hated 90's Rap, most of them did

I'm not into most new rappers
So I've only heard 1 Kendrick song before (it was the bonus song about California)
I see all the critical acclaim online about his new album
nikkas sayin it's better than Illmatic lyrically and a top 10 album ever
I just read some1 say it's the 2012 ready to die

So I 'buy' the album last night
I listen to it straight through
Total concentration

The album is ok
I follow the story
A couple of hot songs
But in no way was my mind blown
Or think that was some ill slick shyt he said

It didn't sound like 98% of the garbage on the radio
And he sounds like he can rap
But never did the word classic come to mind

I guess just because something ain't garbage, it's good?

Listen to it a couple more times. Then give your review

this album has a very west coast vibe to it and everyone that grew up around the hood understands where he is coming from as i previous stated one of the best if not best concept albums in the last 10 years.

Wildly overrated. I've listened to it a few times to try to hear what I was missing and it's just not working for me. Album has a few good cuts, but as a whole is just meh.

Album is good. Beats grew on me. Kendrick's voice modulation even got less annoying. Is it a classic? Not to me cause I don't relate to the kid like that. :manny:

But for this generation he's probly a prophet of sorts. I'm not mad at that. Cats used to love Q-Tip back in the day and swore by Tribe albums that I liked, but never thought were classic.

Classic to me is something that creates a major change in society on some level. It Takes A Nation Of Millions, Straight Outta Compton, Illmatic, Ready To Die, Soul Food, ATLiens, The Chronic, etc etc etc...

shyt like The Documentary, TM101, Jay Z just performed 99 problems off The Black Album for Obama. That's classic material.

This album unfortunately while it has some cool moments I just ain't seein it. But stans are the worst ya'll nikkas stay :sadbron:
