I love my mother unconditionally I love my wife but that love can go away if she's unfaithful or disloyal. I thought I'd never get over my 1st wife she was my high school sweetheart bit I obviously did so yeah that's proof there is no unconditional love between couples sorry. Simple. People are too manipulative and opportunistic for “unconditional” love to be a good thing

Very few people can and are willing to love unconditionally in romantic relationships

And they shouldn't. For the health and well-being of self, love should absolutely have conditions that when violated terminate the feelings between two people.

If you love yourself first then love cannot be unconditional. The catch is that a healthy love of self is required for most long lasting, healthy romantic relationships.
