Unconditional, what does that mean here. Unconditional like the Japanese surrender had to be at the end of the war? Where you ask for nothing and submit entirely?
I don't see how that can be a good thing to be honest. If you do something wrong, you need to be called out on it, and nobody has more right to call you out than your immediate family and your partner.
It can't be a good thing to have a yes man and a doormat so close to you in your life, occupying such an important role in your life. They need to be able to set you right when you go wrong. Yes men and door mats is what your friends might be, but you can't have that in your inner circle.
We say parenting is unconditional love, but it isnt. How many times did your parents punish you when you were a kid because you did something wrong? That's what being a good parent is about, encourage good things in children and discourage bad things. It's not unconditional. An unconditional parent would be a horrible one, and their child would grow up to be a selfish, psychopathic monster
