I hope this is the case. ever since tossing windows in the :bushess: I'm so :blessed: I don't CONSTANTLY have to do updates on my laptop like windows. that shyt was beyond annoying. on windows I'd do an update, and not restart the computer for like 2 weeks later in which I'd have to do another update.

however on MBP, even if I did have to do an update, I wouldn't trip cuz the computer restarts in like 30 seconds anyways.

but I'm noticing that the OS doesn't do many updates. I see apps and programs updating, but not the OS. does this mean that around iOS 9 time in the fall (right before new iphones drop), that Mac OS will get a major update? does apple do it this way? or do OS updates just drop whenever at random.

It has a good amount of update every couple of months but they install very quick. Once a year you get the big upgrade so yea

are the major OS X upgrades noticeable like how the major iOS ones are?

or is it similar to like when windows drops a service pack?

or should I expect OS X himalayas to drop this fall or something?

10.11 will be shown at WWDC, but I doubt it will drop this fall.

iOS and OS X are basically merging at this point with everything tying into each other more and more.

:ohhh: I'm still a newbie with OS X, but I notice that there aren't nearly that many quality apps for OS X like there are for iOS. app store is really lacking on the Mac side.

It's actually improved drastically in the past 10 years. We were in a very dark time in the PowerPC days
