I bought a Lumia 950xl unlocked for $ 649 two weeks ago, and I can't believe the horrible quality of this phone. I haven't purchased a new phone in 5 years.
1) the phone runs very hot almost for no reason. I was recently just browsing simple text-based websites, and the phone would run hot enough to be uncomfortable to hold.
2) the plastic removable back warped from the heat, and began creaking when I held the phone.
3) software is buggy. It took me three attempts to get the keyboard to pop-up to even make this post. There sre random stutters and freezes all the time.
4) i returned the phone because the issues and got another one. I turned on the replacement phone, and the phone scorched, and then drained the whole battery in 1 hour (supposedly 13 hours were left per the phones battery display).
5) there was a recent update 5 days ago that's supposed to fix these overheating issues, but my phone didn't recognize it. Microsoft, realizing that the update isn't being recognized by many phones, pulled the update from its servers. Now, i have phone with an unoptimized OS, and there is no update in site.
on the plus side. Windows mobile is the best phone OS, in terms of workflow and layout, that i have ever used.
I really want to like this phone, and i am a bit of a Microsoft fan, but this is too much for me.
the Nexus 6p looks really nice and its 200 dollars cheaper...
