I wouldn't go by The Verge for anything besides Apple. From what I've seen on the net it's pretty much mixed reviews. Which quite frankly has always been the case with WinMo even back to the HTC Sense days.

well, I finally got the .29 update and I have noticed some nice improvement and less overheating.
I just figured out that there are file names, file folders and a windows explore function. Coming from an apple phone, this is a big deal.
I ordered a nexus 6p, I will use them side-by-side to see which one I will keep.
windows 10 OS is nice.

the 950 xl forum is full of the same complaints: Squeaky unaligned build, buggy software, random re-boots, overheating, and there so many "I'm returning this" threads. This a forum (windows central) of Microsoft's hardcore fans, and it looks many of them are abandoning ship.
if this was apple or Samsung, the uproar would be insane.
that being said, I still haven't returned my second 950 xl. I have grown to like it. Still waiting on my 6P as well

I got the nexus 6p in the mail today. Just by holding the nexus 6p, it feels like a higher quality phone. Feels really solid with a nice solid metal feel and some definite weight.
having two 810 snapdragon phones in my hand right now...the heat issues I experienced were definitely due to 810. The nexus 6P also runs fairly warm. I guess I wasn't used to this coming from an iPhone.
I never really messed with android before... It's okay...its definitely snappy and smooth. Plus it automatically works with my Chromecast, which is excellent. I never could get Spotify to work with Chromecast on my iPhone 4, and this works almost instantly.
however, coming from using WM10 for 2 weeks. Android feels very underwhelming.
1) no glance screen
2) no file folder organization (for downloads and pictures) and no option to re-name files.
3)I prefer the live-tile with app list.. I don't like all the crazy Icons everywhere.
4)no cursor on the keyboard (this actually helps a lot)
5) Lumia camera is better (but android camera software is better)
6)no instant camera button.
7) screen is better on Lumia.
the nexus has overall higher quality build. Looks better, and has a better overall app ecosystem, which I don't really care about
overall, if the Lumia had a premium build quality, I wouldn't even consider returning this...
having my wife's 6s+, the Lumia and now the nexus 6p... I now have the best and purest versions of all the mobile OS. I give the edge to windows mobile.
nexus has the best overall build aesthetic. The iPhone is an overpriced phone...

Nah... Windows 10 OS is better than andriod. They just need a better platform. The lumia feels cheap, even though the chipset hardware is pretty bad ass. Once the surface phone drops and all x86 programs run on a phone (with continuum), it is going to be a game changer

Dude murdered that phone solely because Windows 10 Mobile has so many issues.
what he is saying... I agree with 100%. I still think WM10 is better due to it's features, workflow, and interface.
I am not here to hate on Android. I have Nexus 6p right and it's great. Windows 10 just feels closer to the pocket PC that I always wanted, and as an old person (32 turning 33) the familiarity of Windows OS, which I have been using since I was 9 years old is very comforting.
as always in the 2000+ era, Microsoft has the killer ideas, but the most horrible execution.
I wasn't trying to label you as a hater by any means :ubie:. I wanted WM10 to be as good if not better than the other versions but it looks like it completely fumbled on the ONE area I thought beat Android and Apple: the software
That said, I'm still probably gonna cop a Nokia 640 next week.
