what brand of gasoline also plays a big role in this....
You get reduced timing (power) with regular in a late Northstar
When you switch to the higher octane, you will likely not notice an immediate difference. It takes a bit for the car to get used to the octane, usually a full tank.

Was that a corny supercharger reference?I got a couple cars that got a pulley coming out of the intake manifold, its mandatory for me..

If it made a difference why do the all come from the same truck.I always get regular gas.
But I'll be gettng a new car later this year. Does premium gas (plus, super) make a difference in the overall health of your car,,or does it just last longer? I'm in the northeast, so I'm only using A/C 3.5 months tops
I only get 87 if Im at exxon that's easily the best gas...shell gas is TRASH it literally makes my engine cough...I suspect it's watered down Im only getting 93 from if Im forced to get their gas...

I think Brand matters more than octane but used whatever gas the manual calls for. I put regular in my Infiniti once and it ran like shyt relatively speaking. With that said, Hondas, Toyotas, Nissans can use regular gas and keep on chugging just fine.

Just had this conversation yesterday with a mechanic at Meineke.
Long story short, my truck felt "sluggish" and would take like 3+ seconds for the engine to turn over when starting it up (periodically).
Took it to Meineke because the stealership was packed.
They said it was carbon build up (in the areas where the spark plugs are)
The did some type of chemical cleaning.
My gas tank was low so guy told me to fill my tank and put in this fuel treatment. He recommended I use the 92 gas.
He Said for direct combustion engines, the better fuel will delay this carbon build up since it burns a bit cleaner.
I filled up and it cost me 60 bucks vs the 48 to 50 it normally costs.
Imm try and stick with it.

When I buy a new car I only put premium in it... After 5 years or if I reach 100k I'd switch to regular....
