Does Pusha T have the best solo discography of any rapper that was in a duo?

Not at the level he’s done it. He made a career out of doing what he’s good at. You can’t succeed lazily over 20 years. It’s success.
His consistency is questionable. There's big gaps in his resume. Great rappers that wait so long to drop will come with new subject matter at the bare minimum. If I spent 20 years playing one video game and perfected it, you wouldn't say Im the best at playing video games. Push is just the best coke rapper and even that is questionable.

Prodigy takes it quite easily for me, not just because I enjoy his solo albums more (HNIC, pt2, Product of the 80's, Return of the Mac, Albert Einstein, Hegelian Dialectic 1 and 2), but also because it's on top of all the greatness he's done with Mobb Deep. That counts for me.

In that light, I'd also put Phonte over Pusha T, even though I prefer his rapping over his singing.
One be Lo hasn't been mentioned either.

I can agree somewhat with this. He puts together better cohesive projects than most, while some of the others listed may have 1 album better than his best solo project and have more classic solo songs.

But his solo albums 1-4, are TOUGH. He's smart because he doesn't clutter his project with filler like some of the others. Which is why he always drops 4 mics albums or better every go around

Its hard to do these comparisons by strictly looking at albums due to how the album creation process changed so much throughout the years.

Push has way more freedom today to make whatever he wants without some bullshyt radio songs, and thats why hes able to make these cohesive projects. Obviously dudes like Gibbs, Ransom, Spesh, and the Griselda boys benefit from this too.

But how much do 3 cohesive projects matter if you dont have a Banned From TV or Body In The Trunk? That's why I think its better to just stack the best 50 or best however many songs these artists have made if you want to do a real comparison.

This was lowkey my argument on Jadakiss discography lately. Even though his albums have some filler, that was a product of him having to feed multiple people: his core audience, the labels and build a female fan base. shyt is tough

i was trying to think of all the rappers in groups that dropped solo projects, I can't think of one that has a better solo discog than Pusha T.

Prodigy? No
Havoc? No
Andre? No material really
Big Boi? His is really good, but I lean towards no
Erick Sermon? Can be debated
PMD? No
Mos Def? Debatable
Talib? No
Kurupt? No
Daz? No
Noreaga? No
Capone? No
Pharoahe Monch? Gotta think about this one
Prince Poetry? No material really
Sean Price? Arguable
Rockness? No
QTip? No
Phife? No
Bun B? Not quite
Pimp C? No

Can someone think of someone I'm missing?

Edit: didn't think I'd have to qualify this, but rappers who dropped solo records prior to dropping duo projects do not count. Rappers who are in a larger group do not count. We're talking about rappers who first project(s) was in a duo and then became solo acts.

Say what you want about his albums, but HIT-wise, 2 Chainz is prolific and relevant

yeah I fukk with Push and his albums but Big solos were great top to bottom. I thought about Prodigy too but personally i don't like his non rhyming flow era which is basically everything from HNIC onward. more misses than hits for me.
After HNIC I agree P stopped rhyming a lot of the time but I still liked some of the music (HNIC 2 and Return had some good songs) but he fell off severely as far as rhyming goes and I have no clue what happened to him because he used to be so nice. I still liked the music and as I said HNIC was the last glimpse of Prodigy who would rhyme words together effortlessly but I saw signs soon after and for some reason he quit rhyming words together.
This one is tough though as far as the thread goes, would take some going back over the albums again and listening to them all (Push, Prodigy etc.).

The only bad Prodigy album was HNIC 3.

But that's one more bad album than Pusha has

What gaps?
Critically acclaimed debut
Critically acclaimed rap duo
Critically acclaimed solo catalog
Grammy nominated in the latter part of career
Classic songs, features and moments
Toe to toe with the arguably the biggest rapper ever and continues to not only exist but flourish

All from one subject matter.
Other rappers should feel lucky he isn’t more well rounded.
