alternative rock and emo rock is holding me down especially the old school classics like nirvana, journey, tears for fears, sunny day real estate, red hot chili peppers, etc

Paramore I love you

Yeah I kinda agree with the OP. I wouldn't say it doesn't exist but its definitely no longer mainstream. I swear(at least where I live) whenever I'm around a bunch of white people(and I mean those who do not look like they are wiggers) and disucssions like music come up...

Me-What rock/metal band do you mess with(me just trying to ease the uncomfortableness).

Whiteboy-Rock? Metal? Hell nah. I listen to Thugg and Chief...:scust::gucci:

And I mean these are the whitest of whiteboys culturally! The ones that be playing baseball or sometimes skateboarding. This has happened MANY times. From what I;ve seen Rock is dead among the white youth here in NY. Unless they are the very nerdy whites or whites that are big rock fans/play in a band.

Only white guy I knew that liked rock was this cool cac back in my TV class during second semester who knew all the bands. He also got me an A on my project. :ehh: And also this other cac in my audio last who played in a band. But other than that almost 85% of the non-wigger white boys I've seen fukked with the most ratchet of Hip Hop.

And PS: I'd much rather cacs go back to aggressive rock than that sissy pop music they got going.

Do I Wanna Know was their crossover hit. Heard it all over when it came out.

Black people need to take back Rock n Roll. Whites killed it with their lack of innovation.

the decline in popularity of rock music is one of the wildest things i've seen in my lifetime.

even the MTV VMA's doesn't acknowledge rock music anymore.

i remember in the late 90's / early 2000's it was HUGE among white people. now it seems like young white kids want to be EDM "DJ's" more than rockstars nowadays.

lil peep is making some funky rap / alternative rock fusion bullshyt but for the most part rock is super underground now.

It's a lot harder to break out with those rock/indie bands now since the attention isn't really on them as much as it is for any up and coming rappers. The "rock" artists you hear now have been around awhile and have well established fanbases. But I wouldn't say it doesn't exist. Artists are incorporating those themes with other genres.
