Does rubbing vegetable cooking oil on your beard help it grow?

I was at work the other day and someone said putting the Crisco Vegetable oil on your beard before you go to sleep helps it grow. They said it's a trick that only people down south know about.

I still have incoming growing hairs I probably won't have a full beard till a few years and I'm trying to grow the hair on my cheeks and jawline, My goatee is just starting to connect from my chin hair to mustache.

Coconut oil or olive oil will keep your skin and hair healthy which will help growth. But you gotta get like the extra virgin non processed stuff.

i wouldn't put regular crisco on my body.

and no it won't make your beard grow super fast.
