it happened to me recently (a crying woman, not a boner)
a female friend of mine got the news that her aunt was in a car crash and it looked like she wouldn't make it (p.s: the aunt made it)and i was there when she got the news via cell phone. she got emotional and went for my shoulder to cry on.
damn!! did i feel useless.
i didn't know what to do with my arms and hands, so i lightly patted her head like she was some dog or something.
but, a few days later she thanked me for being there for her.
i thought i was making shyt worse by not saying the right thing, but apparently my awkward patting and shoulder were all she needed at the time!!
