ehh, i dunno. supposedly a record cant even get played consistently on radio or shown favor on streaming platforms w/o a certain amount of push from a major and money behind it.

This is a lot of confusion about what “success” is in the music industry. They’ve been breaking it down to us for over a decade now that sales is not the only thing that makes you a success in it (there is show money, placement, endorsements, parlay a hot song into a marvel movie feature, etc) yet some people still looking at the charts lol

So especially with the girls, it should be much easier to be successful because sex has always been a factor in general consumerism

Sales and streaming numbers is still the best way to quantify popularity as it shows what the people are actually listening to. Basing success on things like placement, endorsements, and movie features, all corporate controlled, just proves my point that these thot rappers aren't organically popular and in actuality have a machine behind them.

There are also metrics for concert tickets, merchandise sales, appearance fees, etc. you can’t pick and choose which ones show popularity lol

Just look at the most popular artists recently. There’s definitely been just as much discussion about the renaissance tour, big steppers tour, Taylor swift tour, etc as there is about their albums. And it definitely cost more to attend those than it takes to press play on Spotify lol

Posters like you really ruining the escense of why I come here. I don't know how to check your post history(not that I would anyway) but have you ever made a thread that wasn't a repost from IG?

I'm not clicking a link of some Byrd with bangs down 2 her eyelashes like an anime character. Next time provide cliffs. Negged.

Huh?

I know Taylor swift Beyonce nem is selling out tours. I'm talking about thot rappers. I say thot rappers have low sales and streams, yet continuously get pushed. You say sales and streams aren't the only metric, there are other metrics like concert tickets, and merchandise sales that can prove they aren't just a product of the machine. So I say show me that these thot rappers are popping on that end then you bring up Taylor Swift and Kendrick? What do they have to do with anything?

Look at my OG post I’m speaking on success in the business in general. But if you want specifics, Sexy red sold out her upcoming Atlanta concert so I’m sure she has done so in other cities. and she doesn’t even have an album out or gold single, yet according to you she’s not popular :mjlol:

Yes the labels push trash because it sells, but the people calling it out as trash ain't the ones supporting these artists...

Problem is low intelligence, the people that support trash are VERY dumb, they don't care about lyrics, they just want a hot beat and hook to shake they ass to...
Or they recognize that music is for entertainment and having fun, not solving world hunger.
