I think problem is that those who bytch dont realize theyre also promoting. I found a lot of artists through nikkas bytchin about how terrible they are.

If you want change then show that the change would be profitable. Cause like others are saying there are great rappers who dont talk about the regular bullshyt out there who get no support which shows the record labels that theyll be losing money on them. :yeshrug:

Most of these rappers have their murder raps or p*ssy poppin anthems already written before they step in a major label’s office…..
This is why I hate discussing music in this era. Everybody wants to act holier than thou, point fingers and pretend they're above it all while also acting like the big mean record execs are regularly forcing good, wholesome artists to completely go against their principals and values for a contract as if the strip club anthems and murder records weren't what got their attention in the first place.

And don't get me wrong, I got all the smoke for record labels, but I'm also not delusional.

She's wrong because the record labels are the reason this is happening, consumers consume.
How is she wrong though? Plenty of shyt gets pushed on consumers that falls by the wayside. Records only sell when it's something consumers actively want to buy and hear.

The labels aren't turning a bunch of Lauryn Hills and Talib Kweli's into Sukihana and King Von left and right.

She's about 80% correct. People lean on the antiquated "labels push it" from 20 years ago to dodge accountability.

I do think 20% falls on labels through because people respect structures and gatekeeping, and often need consumer guidance. There's also no other form of entertainment where the audience is told to search the universe for quality instead of the most prominent firms striving to provide it instead.

Thot rappers been around since the 90s, everybody loved Lil Kim and Foxy. At the same time I can see record companies pushing artists to be sexual and giving them the best producers. Are there any non thot female rappers as talented as Missy these days?
That's a high bar IMO

To me missy was THE most talented female rapper
