Does society view rape as being worse than murder?

Ever notice how some people like to act all dark and morbid? They talk about being into movies that depict canabolism, murder and mutilation; all of which are gross and in-humane, but the thing is when you mention rape or bring up a movie having to do with rape they all of a sudden change like "dude what the fukk you're sick." I don't think rape is normal or should be shown in movies or entertainment, but it does have me thinking... Why do we not even blink an eye when watching a person get shot in cold blood.

In my opinion rape is worse than murder. Push even the nicest person enough times and they can eventually snap and kill you. You never heard of someone being pushed to the point where they decided to rape someone. It takes a "special" kind of person to rape tbh.

Taking an innocent persons life.. there is no recovering after that. That person is gone

Only, who says that living is really an option after being raped. No amount of rehabilitation, therapy, counseling can ever make a rape victim who they were before the crime. You're robbing a woman of sexual freedom, comfort, identity.

Breathing in air, doesn't mean that you're living. Rape is murder, just a different type.

Yeah, I get your point of view as well. But there are many cases where rape victims have been able to keep living a normal life after being raped, or if not normal at least a life worth living. It's a very dangerous thing to say that if you get raped your life is not worth living.

But killing someone, there is absolutely no chance of that person coming back.

I think the thing with murder is that after the fukked up shyt of going through death, the person is at peace. While the family will grieve, the person in question isn't worrying about these issues, at everlasting sleep. Justice for the most part after murder is for the victims family's peace of mind.

Rape though, that person still alive, and has to live with it for the rest of their lives. And while some are able to pick up the pieces and continue, many aren't even if they are good at acting like they have.

Pretty much what I was going to say.
The PTSD, the terror, the anxiety, the depression, all will likely stay with a person who was raped. A person who was murdered no longer suffers once they've died.
And murder is much more ingrained in our society, especially as militarized as we are.

You don't think relatives of murder victims don't suffer from those things? The victim might be at peace, but the loved ones are definitely not.

Simply because women are the primary victims. Anything where women are the victims is amplified. Look at domestic violence.
