What kills me about these kind of threads is the people giving advice. When I joined 8 yrs ago I had a lot of people telling me not to, but most of of em were no good motherfukkers that wasn't doing shyt for themselves, or cats that were proud to have a car and a studio apartment but couldn't see beyond the present. Any service is what you make it. And yeah, some people do come back from deployment fukked up. But if your friend that was a dental assistant, human resources, or some shyt like that comes back with PTSD, they're probably fulla shyt. I have my degree now, a secret clearance, get paid over $50,000 a year. All while a majority of the cats back home that talk shyt about what I do still live in that same studio apt, and work at the same retail job or factory 8 fukking yrs later.

Those "honkies" do send their kids. Most of the casualties in the past ten years have come been from white males simply because they are the ones taking the majority of combat roles.

Also, if I bomb the asvab can I retake that ho? I wanna go for the AF first, but to be truthful, my mind is set on being an army nikka, I just wanna see if I'm smart enough to be AF. My uncle and my gramps were army nikkas, it's in the blood Brehs.
You need to be studying for the Asvab so you don't bomb. You need at least a 110 GT score and you need to be thinking about taking the DLAB. The DLAB is a language test they make to see if you can comprehend learning one. It is a made up language. There are some study guides online but it is still hard to prepare for. If you have a good understanding of the English language you should be okay. Just try to score a 85 or above. It can be waivered if you score like 70. It's hard, but if you want to do those sort of things, it's necessary.
Also be prepared to go through SERE school, Airborne(easiest school in the Army), and a host of other schools. That's if you make the grade. Military Intelligence. You will need a top secret clearance which shouldn't be hard. If you have negative information in your background
. Pay all debts no matter how small, etc.

Joining at any age is okay. When you get it in, just work. I'd say the older guys who come in do better because you are trying to make up for lost time. Also you understand what it's like being in the civilian world. There will be a bunch of guys everyday threatening to "get out" but you will be able to take the good with the bad and make rank/money quick.
Are you physically fit? If not I'd get to it. 270 or higher on your pt tests and you are the "golden child"

28 isn't that bad. Before the age limit was lowered to 35, I had soldiers under me that were in their late 30's when they joined. Not gonna bullshyt you though, these fukking kids will get on your damn nerves because you should be more mature than the average 18-24 yr old private. If you have a degree and no criminal record other than traffic, can get about a 70+ on the ASVAB, and can get into really good shape, I would recommend trying OCS and then enlisting if you are not selected. Being a 29 or 30 y/o LT isn't the same as being a PVT at that age.

Im n the af and i never looked back im aircraft maintance lets just say i got it good at the base im at and the jet i work if you work any fighter jet your gonna hate life its a grind but it more family oriented at those bases esp overseas its all one big family your co workers will take care of you and do things as a squadron etc

the biggest advice i would give is to use the military as a last resort and least try to get some schooling done before you join i realized i missed out on that college life cause i joined at a young age while my friends will be graduating next year

secondly...im bumping this thread because currently im in a HORRIBLE situation....working a shytty minimum wage job making less than $200 every week...can't get financial aid to go back to college(got my associates from community college cause my mother was paying...but has since said she can't help anymore)
im also thinking about going to a shelter....but my curious mind is also wondering if the miltiary thing is the best for me now to solve my problem of not having housing(so im not living with my mother) and having a GI bill to cover my school when im done "Lebron voice: The army was like 4 year college for me"...
final question....im skinny as fukk....if you choose not to be in combat...and just a field to train in for your future career....do you still go through a mini "boot camp"? with my housing and health covered for....and knowing in the back of my mind i can have my education taken care of when im done.... breh
its like how people were skinny as hell before famous....and had access to what they needed....i got the willpower....weights.....but the biggest issue was with not having money to eat enough to bulk....now thats all gonna change...all the extra money i would have now....having a gallon of milk a day(GOMAD) in addition to eating whole foods....excercising 3 days a week and resting the other days so im not on that vegeta mode of overexerting myself everyday....

race doesn't matter too me at all nor do i have a preference i just wanted a good woman with a good head on her shoulder at my single days. i did date a few black females but the ones that i wanted were taken so options were limited let alone the places i have been wasn't dominantly black either so it is what it is.
in your response can you be detailed as possible breh.....from the enlisting process...to going into a specific field(im interested in electrical or chemical engineering) the way you went in dental...and not being in combat...
the best thing u can do is just do your best on ur asvab so u have many options too choose from. sometimes if u know people they can do favors and get u the job u want but just depends on all who u know.
so u take ur asvab test and then u do all this damn paperwork signing ur life away then they set up a day for u too pick ur job based on if u qualified for it due too ur test scores. the thing bout this is every day is something new a job might be open one day with a big bonus and next day wont be open at all. everyday its something different just the draw of the luck at times too. i always say do a job that interest u as much as possible so u can also enjoy ur time in the military and also could use on the outside but when ur desperate and scores are bad and cant get them up just choose the next best option for urself whatever that maybe. the combat part u get deployed no matter job u have but it doesn't mean u fight on the front lines either so dont stress bout it but u will still need too learn how too take care of urself if something were too happen that is what training is for

Japanese women in random clubs... stop worrying bout money u will be covered if ur in the army free dental health etc... but it wont mean shyt if u dont know how too spend ur money at all. you go thru ur basic training and then ur ait which is for ur job after that u go too ur duty station wherever that may be at and work like a normal person well depending on what u do u still can long hours at work and work on weekends but every job is different and every unit and base is different. i may have been in dental but i was working long hours and even weekends at times especially on a training base. i would have too be in at work at 0500 and at times not leave till 1800 and still have too work on weekends sometimes
the skinny part hey I'm not that big but i know how too bulk up fairly easy and it has nothing too do with money either unless ur poor then i can see the problem but anyways
getting big wont solve ur women problems granted there are females who only mess with guys in the military just be honest and confident and not let a female who say no scare u off too talk too the next one simple as that
