It's been happening for like two weeks+ for me and I've been ignoring it but it's too much now
Only happens on my phone, people's avatars are different, smileys be random small pictures
Edit: like : dead : is a small picture of the Asian bad guy from rush hour 1

That ain't a fix, that's just eating up my battery having to load a page multiple times. I'm having the same issue, just started for me today or yesterday. Man, life was great with their new skin keeping safari from being hijacked to the App Store, but now it's something else 
Gonna submit a ticket for it today to have it looked at.

started happening to me around 2 months ago. and its always on iPhone. buttons being replaced by random ass pictures and shyt.
