Does the Switch play all those old GameBoy games?

I believe the 3ds can play GameBoy+Color games along with NES and SNES on their virtual console. And those Pokemon games should be on their

I tried an emulator on my desktop once, but it was impossible to save the game in the browser and shut down my pc. Is there a locally installable emulator type deal where I can play when I want and be able to save games?
