Does the US National Debt freak anyone else out?

You just hate math bruh? Those 3 programs are half of the entire federal budget. With no changes, they'll be 75% of the nation's budget in the next 30 years. That's not fiscally possible man.

Only a quarter of our debt is held by foreign countries. The rest is money owed to programs like Medicare/Medicaid/SS.

Thats going to leave alot of dead people, and old people definitely aren’t going for that. If you run on that platform you are not winning. It’s the same reason the rethugs couldn’t repeal affordable care act. The fat from healthcare costs needs to be trimmed so medicare/medicaid don’t have to pay ridiculous prices. And these corporations need to be taxed accordingly or increase wages instead of funneling the money back to Me Myself and I

I don’t understand economics well but isn’t every dollar in existence considered debt to the federal reserve? If so, doesn’t a rising debt just mean a growing economy? If I’m getting that right (which I’m probably not), it would seem wealth distribution and allocation is the real issue.
