Does there need to be more variety in black comedy?

How often do you go to shows jw? Are you a casual observer or do you actually seek out live comedy? The experience is a lot different. You're only seeing them in big venues with edits and such. And you can't really use chappelle because he's actually a comedic freak of nature.

Never been to a live comedy show, but i don't see how watching it on TV vs watching it live would have THAT big an effect on whether or not I find the material funny. I didn't have to see Eddie Murphy or Richard Pryor live to find them funny :yeshrug:

The drinks and atmosphere go a long way. You gain a deeper appreciation when you go to love shows.

i have been to a few shows and nikkas couldn't stop talking about the same white kids do this, black kids do that, white women this, black woman hair this or that..

i'm like i just need to pop in my pryor, chappelle tapes

my experience also :francis: which kind of makes sense, they see the successful acts doing it. takes a bold comedian to buck the trend. I'm hoping for that transformation though @Billy Costigan just basically need some individuality and new topics
