Well.. hardy is a good, but overrated actor, michael b jordan is a terrible one.

In Legend, he plays his stereotypical character as well as his twin brother who is a mildly autistic, gay schizophrenic.
Get him a weird and cool jacket, plus a oddly pitched tone of voice, and he's ready to go

Watch him in The Drop. It's not that hard of a role to pull off but it's different from what you described. Good movie too.

These are all very different roles, that call for very different performances. I didn't mention Fury Road because it really wasn't a character driven role. Hardy's a beast. Fassbender is too. Any comparison to DeNiro or Pacino were silly in the first place because they already have decades of work, in a time where creativity and originality in filmmaking wasn't as stifled, over these guys. There haven't been any DeNiros or Pacinos since DeNiro and Pacino

That may be so, but Denzel and Tom Hanks are virtually the same guy in most of their films. They would never be considered overrated. I think it boils down to how the part is written...and in some cases just being type-cast.
