Just got a puppy a few weeks ago off Craigslist..mixed lab and some other shyt who knows. I’ve never been a huge pet person but my son had been wanting a dog so I got him.
Potty training’s been the biggest issue. He barely uses the pads in the house and when I take him outside he isn’t using it consistently either.
We got to the point where we let him chill in the garage mostly when he’s not playing and he’s been low key as far as barking and whining. But he’s still not using the pads and my wife is having to deep clean the garage.
It probably was a huge mistake not crating him or putting him in a play pen from the jump because he’s been free roaming. We put the play pen up and now he’s crying and whining nonstop
will he get used to it?

Thats where you fukked up. Never get your kids a dog, because you're always going to be the one who has to deal with its shyt. Shoulda got a cat. You throw that mf in the litter box one time and thats where it shyts. Sure cats get the zoomies at night and get the meowing like a mf but for the most part they on chill. Put a couple cat trees in the house, some cardboard boxes and you good.
