Rap fans always bytching and moaning about artists keeping it real and doing it for the culture

What culture? The culture who calls nikkas washed up after 4 years?

The culture that turns its back on you If an album isn't flames ?

The culture that hops back on your dikk when you get hot again and acts like they always loved you ?

The culture that doesnt purchase music ?

I used to be part of the group of cornballs who bytched and moaned like hoes about stupid shyt like writers

What do these nikkas owe us? We ain't shyt to be honest

As far as I'm concerned, this is a business and they should get their money because rap fans are the most fickle music fans and it's all about "What have you done for me lately?"

Rap fans dont respect those who put the work in... Like NORE says, y'all dont respect your legends... their albums flop, they get called washed and then are quickly replaced and forgotten about

So if a nikka wanna hire 173 writers to ensure that he makes a profit on his investments, then get your money and I salute you... cash in while youre on fire cause rap fans ain't shyt....

fukk the culture, get your money cause this same culture will turn its back on you.. It's not a matter of (IF) but actually (WHEN) because it ALWAYS happens... As a rap artist, you WILL be clowned and labeled washed no matter what you do... So get money.

Cool. I can understand that perspective, but it comes with unforseen consequences. Sort of forfeit the right to complain about the direction, validity of the music in any way.
No crying if you decide to fully embrace a mercenary frame of mind. About any of it.
"Burn it to the ground as long as I get mine" isn't sustainable.

You will always have people that want to be stars first and artists second ..... theres nothing wrong with that ..... get paid

but when they wanna claim and front like they artists first instead of keeping it real they gonna get flak from people

Disagree. You put "the culture" and pop music fans in the same box and you need to understand the difference between the two. Those who love hip hop and represent "the culture" don't call Redman washed. They still go show love to Phonte at a Foreign Exchange show. They stay up and watch Swizz and Just have a beat battle.

Pop fans that reside in the realm of hip hop aren't of the culture you speak of. They represent what's current, or what's trending. Their opinions on who's flabby and washed are insignificant in the greater scheme of things in terms of longevity and legacy. The culture is why Mos Def will always have a huge following, and why Doom doesn't have to put out another record and he'll be considered an icon. Don't confuse the pop aspect of rap music with the culture itself.
