I’ll be real - I’m not familiar with her discography like that, but every song of her that I ever happened to hear by happenstance has been sonically pleasing and she seems to know how to actually rap because I hear multi syllable rhyming, schemes and punches in her raps - different flows too.

Again, for someone that’s not really informed on her discography - I lowkey think she’s the only “female rapper” I could actually listen to. I certainly prefer what I’ve heard from her than what I’ve heard from others.

For example I’ve not heard this album but I casually clicked on it and the shuffle button on Apple Music and it landed on a song titled “Cards” and I liked the song.

I lowkey might be a Doja Cat fan without even knowing it :lupe:

This is the best pop album since the Dua Lipa Future Nostalgia joint and Beyonce Renaissance

I wouldn't consider this to be hip-hop at all really, even though she's rapping on most of the tracks

Who do you think it is that’s listening to Doja Cat people in their 50s and 60s?

:russ:

Ppl who like music, pop fans, music critics who could range between the ages of 12 to 60. You would be surprised

a young person can develop a fondness for and feel nostalgic about 80s music, even if they weren't alive

Or rather I should say she's pandering to that era sound ...riding that 70s/80s sound wave which she help to start I admit

Apart from that, the vocals, the mix is off at times...she delivers in a similar cadence a lot of times...the writing isn't strong

The joint with SZA and maybe two other records stood out but nothing really else imho

I don’t disagree just thought it was funny.
Took my wife and daughter to the Scarlet Tour and felt like I was the oldest person in the arena and Im still too young to have 80s nostalgia.

I've been bumping all day; I was gonna write an @Art Barr approved review.....but I back tracked and figured this will sum up my feelings.
