the dolphins finished the season way better than folks thought it was going to be.

but honestly it feel like Mike offense was figured out when the nfl DCs went to that 2 high safety coverage
Tua wasnt hitting Tyreek and Waddle deep anymore. yeah they somewhat adjusted and started running Achane more and had to go on these long sustained drives
This is what happened. But it also highlights a bit of a failure that McDaniel wasn’t able to adjust and keep scoring.

Maybe Tua was the biggest part of that problem but McDaniel has to own it too.

He gets another head coaching opportunity imo
you think so?

there were alot of reports about his leadership and him not being respected by the players. Guys missing meetings and showing up late and basically doing whatever they want with no consequence

hes probably better off being a OC

It didn't just kick in, Tua's been paid under that extension over the last 2 seasons. He has $54M remaining guaranteed.

Year One just concluded last week. He's Signed for 3 more years with a $99 million Dead cap if released.

"In 2026, Tagovailoa will earn a base salary of $39,000,000, a signing bonus of $15,000,000 and a workout bonus of $250,000, while carrying a cap hit of $56,400,000 and a dead cap value of $99,200,000."

I would think Spotrac knows what they talking about.

Yeah, he's been pretty good with offense and is still fairly young. He'll have to be an OC for a couple years and reflect on what went wrong in Miami and how he can improve but some team will give him a second opportunity.

That was dumb i wouldve kept him long as tua was there 7nless they plan on moving tua bum ass too
They 100% are. He might be there next year as the cost is too great to move on but they can cut him after 2026... it'll hurt but would be somewhat manageable. Unless he's locker room poison he's gonna be there 2026

Needs to come back to Houston where he was our OC for a season and we did really well.

Mike just isn’t cut out to be a HC but he a damn good OC.

Extending Tua was the fatal mistake he made. You can’t hitch your wagon to mediocrity.

I'm not saying he's not a good OC, but I don't get why many people seem to think he's the best OC in the NFL or top three. Always seems that some of these OC's and head coaches get overhyped year after year.

i think mike can be a good HC. he's definitely better than some of the current head coaches out there right now and i'm not sure there are too many coaches who can do a good job with this dolphins roster.

i think the bigger issue was chris grier, his draft picks, trades and roster construction dug that team in too big of a hole to climb out of. he was the GM since 2016 and that team accomplished jack shyt and had little to no star power until mike mcdaniel showed up.

Damn, all these fanbases want him as their OC (Lions, Chiefs, Ravens, Eagles, etc.). He will have his pick of the litter for any of these OC openings.
